Parking Lot Striping in Billings, MT

Lot Striping · Billings, MT

Clean Lines, Clear Lot

Parking lot striping is the last five percent of a lot that does half the talking. Crisp lines, straight stalls, clear arrows — customers read all of it, and around Billings, Laurel, Lockwood and across the Yellowstone Valley the sun and the snowplows grind painted lines toward invisible a little more every year. We stripe new layouts on a bare mat and restripe faded lots back to sharp, from a few stalls behind a shop to a full commercial lot.

Striping also carries the practical load: accessible stalls where they need to be, fire lanes that stay unmistakable, arrows that keep traffic moving the right direction, crosswalks where people actually walk. It's the natural finisher after seal coating or new paving — fresh black mat, fresh lines, and the lot goes back to work looking like someone runs the place.

New Layout or Faithful Restripe

On a bare or freshly sealed mat we lay the lot out from scratch: stall sizes that fit real vehicles, drive lanes wide enough to actually turn in, accessible stalls placed near the entrances they serve, and traffic flow that doesn't fight itself. Layout is where a lot gains or loses stalls — a smart plan often finds parking the old paint wasted.

Restripes are their own discipline. We work from the existing layout when it works, sharpen it where it doesn't, and put the new lines down straight and full so they read at a glance and hold up under plowing and traffic. Faded, ghosting double lines confuse drivers — a clean restripe resets the whole lot.

The Markings That Keep a Lot Working

Stripes are more than stalls. Accessible (ADA) stalls need their access aisles and symbols marked, fire lanes need to stay clearly visible, and crosswalks, loading zones and directional arrows each have a real job. When markings fade past reading, the lot gets harder to use — and the parts that exist for safety and access stop doing theirs.

We stripe all of it, cleanly and in the right places. If you're not sure what your lot is supposed to have, we'll walk it with you at the estimate and flag what's missing or worn out — a straight answer from a free look, not a surprise later.

Sequenced With Seal Coating and Paving

Striping comes last for a reason: paint goes over finished surfaces. The efficient move is bundling — crack seal and seal coat the lot, then stripe it fresh once the coating cures. One contractor, one schedule, instead of three separate mobilizations. Newly paved lots get their first layout the same way.

Striping needs dry pavement and decent temperatures, and the paint itself dries fast — we phase sections so the lot keeps working while we do. Weather cooperating, most lots can be sealed, striped and fully back in service inside a couple of days.

How a Job With Ostermiller Runs

From the first look at the job to the final walk-through, here is exactly how it goes.

1

Look at the Job

We come see the actual job — the slab, the driveway, the lot, and the ground under it. What failed, why it failed, and what the fix really is. No blind quotes over the phone.

2

Straight Quote

You get a free written quote with a real number and a real timeline. It says what's included — tear-out, haul-off, prep, materials — and it holds unless the scope changes.

3

Do the Work

The crew shows up when we said and does the job the way we quoted it — tear-out, base, forms, pour, pave, seal or stripe. Anything unexpected, you hear about it immediately, not on the invoice.

4

Final Walk-Through

We walk the finished work together before we call it done. Clean lines, clean site, old material hauled off, and clear guidance on cure times and care. Done means you say it's done.

FAQ

Lot Striping Questions, Answered

Common questions about lot striping across Billings & the Yellowstone Valley. Don't see yours? Give us a call — we're happy to help.

Call (406) 717-4103

How much does parking lot striping cost?
Stall count, layout complexity, and whether it's a fresh layout or a restripe set the price. We look at the lot, count what's actually there, and quote it free and in writing. Bundled with seal coating, it's cheaper than paying two mobilizations.
How long does striping take?
Most lots stripe in a day or less, and the paint dries fast — we phase sections so you never lose the whole lot at once. Weather is the real variable: pavement needs to be dry and reasonably warm for the paint to bond.
Can you add accessible (ADA) stalls to our lot?
Yes — we stripe accessible stalls with their access aisles and symbols, placed sensibly for the entrances they serve. If your lot's accessible parking is faded, missing or oddly placed, the estimate walk is the right time to sort out what it should look like.
Do we have to seal coat before striping?
No, but it's the smart order when both are due — the coating goes over the old lines, then fresh stripes go down on the new black surface. Striping alone over the existing layout is routine too. We do both, so one schedule covers it either way.
Do you stripe small lots?
Yes. A dozen stalls behind a shop gets the same straight lines as a big retail lot. If it has stalls, we'll stripe it — call (406) 717-4103 and tell us what you've got.
